for 1854, with 5in. octagonal barrel signed 'ADDRESS COL COLT LONDON.', London proofs, plain cylinder with roll engraved scene stamped 'COLT'S PATENT' along with the serial number, open iron frame signed 'COLT'S PATENT', iron grip-straps and trigger-guard bow (cleaned, some frosting), plain walnut smooth one-piece grip and articulated under-barrel rammer, faded re-finish throughout, together with an American style fitted case, compartmented and lined in red velvet, the case containing a flask, mould, nipple-key and cap-tin, all period to the pistol and almost certainly associated
